Why did you choose to work at Mitchell? I am a Mitchell graduate. Mitchell helped me to become a more dedicated student and an overall better person. I wanted to work at Mitchell so that I can provide students with the same experience and opportunities that I was given. We say that we transform lives and I am living proof of what Mitchell can do.

What is your best Mitchell memory? My favorite Mitchell memory as a student was walking across the stage the day I received my BA knowing that I had just completed the biggest accomplishment of my life to date. My favorite memory working at Mitchell was my first interview with a perspective family. The mother cried in my office saying that she finally found where she can send her child.

Why did you choose to work at Mitchell? I have been in the disability field for the past thirty years and I have a strong belief in the potential of people with disabilities given adequate support and welcome. Mitchell has a long-standing commitment to supporting students with learning disabilities and other challenges to academic success and has made the necessary financial and philosophical investments to back up that commitment.

What is your best Mitchell memory? Even though I have only been at Mitchell for a short time, I have already developed many good memories of my time here. For me, as an educator, the most treasured memories at Mitchell have been those times when I am working with a student on a complex concept that has direct application to their lives and I see by the light in their eye that they have finally "gotten" it. I feel that I am very fortunate in that I have the opportunity for many such moments with the students at Mitchell and am grateful that i have the opportunity to work with students who are willing to work so hard to achieve success despite many serious challenges

Why did you choose Mitchell? I came from a small High School so not only the size caught my attention but also the academic support that is offered to each individual student. These aspects of the school were far better than the large University schools that I visited during my search.

What’s your most memorable Mitchell moment? It is hard to pick one so I narrowed down to my top two. First working in admissions the experience is truly wonderful. I get to meet so many students that have the same problem, which is figuring out their future. I can be the person who tells them my experiences and helps them to make an informed decision. Also my professors, they are so helpful with any questions or concerns that I have. I don’t know where I would be without them.

Why did you choose Mitchell? I choose Mitchell because it was a place I knew I would excel, and make an impact on this campus. Mitchell College provided opportunities to me before I even thought about coming here. A lovely lady by the name of Carol Brown presented Mitchell to me in a way that I just could not say no. Here I am a Sr. graduating in May with no regrets. Mitchell is a home for me and will always be a home for me. I can say proudly I am a part of the Mitchell family. What’s your most memorable Mitchell moment? My most memorable moment at Mitchell has been so many. Every day is a memorable moment. If I had to choose one I would say being elected student body president. Being the student body president the students come to me for concerns, questions, guidance etc... I love giving a helping hand and have been president for 3 years.
