Who am I?
9:29 am Hey everyone! My name is Fisayo and I am a sophomore at Stony Brook University. I am an Anthropology Major and A Child and Family Studies minor. I am also doing Pre-Med. I am SO happy freshman year is over!!!
Im BAck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:26 pm Hello everyone!! Hope you all had a splendifirous summer. Im back at school now and i just finished finalizing my schedule. My summer was great and I met so many new people. Unfortunately I am horrible with names and can’t remember that many names. But I am amazing at faces so i’ll recognize you once i see you once before so I am not that bad. I am taking 3 science courses. Why? Well… I dont know the answer because I ask myself that same question every day. But I will survive SO about my summer…. I worked most of it but I went to Florida for the last week of summer and had a fantastic time. I went on a helicopter ride and went jet skiing which are two things I had never done before. I almost went sky diving but Im saving that for my next birthday!!! So yea I am back at school and excited for this semester. I am still in shock that I am a junior now. It all went by so fast. half way there… Go me!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll talk to you later. HAve a fun september!! Ciao!!!
Summer!!!!
11:18 pm Summer has finally arrived. The semester was crazy!! Finals week killed me. I had to study so much that at the end of everything I felt like I was dying from acute brain exhaustion (I think I just made up a cool disease). I checked my grades yesterday. They were pretty good but there is always room for improvement. (4.0 next semester???) For the summer I am working two jobs and volunteering in four places. I think I have a pretty decent work schedule. I am working Monday to Friday from 7:45am to 2:30pm and pretty much have the rest of the time off. Best thing about that is I get my weekends to myself. Oooo and I am working as a Tour Guide at school from 11:00am to 2:30pm so if you are in the Stony Brook Area stop by for a tour. I promise it would be excellent. I run track for Stony Brook and we had a pretty good season. I am happy it is over but I can’t wait to get better next year! (hopefully). I have to keep running over the summer. It is so hard to discipline myself to get out the door. I think I might get a drill sergeant to kick me out the house until I get my workout done. I hope the school year went very well for everyone. Good luck with the summer and I will put up post it notes to remind me to keep writing blogs over the summer. Have a great night. Ciao
Countdown!!!
1:45 pm I cannot believe school is almost over. We have two weeks of classes left and then finals. I am happy that I get time of in the summer to give my brains a vacation but I am really sad because I am going to miss all of the great people I see everyday at Stony Brook. I had a track meet on Saturday!! It was fun. It was the first meet we had on a hot day so we were all somewhat dehydrated but it was not anything too bad. I drank so much water that day and I have no clue where it all went. I didn’t feel that great running but I improved my times in both events I ran in. The America East Conference is in two weeks and I can’t wait. Hopefully I do great! I have so many projects to work on and term papers to write. It’s unfortunate I always wait till the last minute to do anything. Well I have class in about 10 mins. Talk to you soon!!
Spring break + 4 weeks of classes left
4:23 pm We had our spring break last week. But like every other spring break i have had it was really really cold outside and it snowed!!!! How unprofessional of the weather!!! I need to have a talk with mother nature. Anyways I had a lovely break. I got to sleep!!!!!!!! and eat and sleep and eat and sleep even more. i was sick for a little bit too but i got better so thats good. I had a track meet last weekend. It was the first outdoor meet we had. I ran the 100m. The race went well but i think i started off not-so-good so i need to practice more starts. We have another meet this weekend so I hope to do great!!!
Birthdays and Midterms!!!!!!!!!
3:29 pm I have to know 30 people born in the first week of March. I was so hard trying to keep up with everyone. The last couple of weeks have been CRAZY for me!!! I completely exhausted myself and I think that affected everything I did. I was so glad to have this weekend. I had a fun day on Friday even though it was hailing/snowing. I had class and then hung out with some of my friends for a lil bit before going home. I spent way too much money yesterday when I went shopping. I went with my cousin and she encouraged me to buy so much stuff. Being the queen of indecisiveness when it comes to picking out the colors of clothes I want I ended up getting two of the same shirts in different colors (not cool!!!) Anyways I had a great time because its been a while since I got to hang out with my cousin. Today I went to church and some of my friends came with me. It was lots of fun and we went out for bagels after. I’m home now doing laundry (arrrgghhh!!) and cleaning my room and thinking about studying later. I think I’m going to dye my hair some weird color today but I just have to figure out what. Hmmmm… I am going to go eat now and probably take a nap. I had my chemistry midterm on Thursday. I was so nervous about it. Hope I did okay. Its over now so yay but then I have more midterms next week. I have to go eat now so I’ll talk to y’all later!!!
Vagina Monologues!!!!!!!!!!
1:54 am I went to the Vagina Monologues last night. I went with my friend Stephanie from Track and we both got T-shirts that proudly declared us as Vagina Warriors. I also went with my friend Patty from SBVAC. Patty was my crew chief last year at the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps and I had the best shift ever with her, Will and Ahmed. Will was the Attendant and Ahmed the driver. It was a great show and I learned a lot about women that are sexually molested, women that are war victims and girls that are terrorized by the onset of menstruation. I was honestly surprised the show touched me as much as it did because I have always heard about women that have been wronged by society but I never connected as much to the issue. The presentation was amazing and the young ladies that acted the parts did a fabulous job. They were all Stony Brook students and had great talent. All of the stories that were narrated were true stories of women that had gone through these experiences. It was definitely a women empowering presentation but at the same time it did not point fingers or blame anyone for the events that occurred and are still occurring in our society. I also liked it a lot because it did not present men in a negative light. The women in these stories were simply requesting to be recognized, to be loved and to be apologized to for the wrongs that were done to them.
March already??!!!!
4:10 pm I had my chemistry midterm this week and for the first time in my life i came out of it with a big grin on my face. I studied a lot for it and i hope it paid off. Indoor track season is over and we are training for outdoor season right now. Our first meet is March 31st (i can’t wait). it is a great feeling because when i started running at first this year i wasn’t really expecting to last the whole season because i felt so out of shape. Its been a long journey and a whole bunch of cramps and aches and pains but i think i may be getting back into decent shape. I feel so much better when i run now. Now that indoor season is over i even shocked myself by setting a goal for next season already (interesting).
track meet
2:21 am Its about midnight right now and i am so tired. I am in Boston right now for a track meet. I had my race today. It went well. We are going to here for one more day because some other people are competing tommorow. School is going okay. I cant believe its been a month of school already. Midterms start next week for me yay i can’t wait. I have been trying to keep up with all my school work this semester and i think i am doing great so far. Straight A’s maybe i hope. Anyways i will talk to you soon because i am tired now. Nite~
Winter Break and the first two weeks back to school!!!!!!!!!!
6:17 pm Wow everything just started again but i feel as though school has been going on forever. I love all my classes this semester (even chemistry) so i am happy about that. My break was great. I was in Florida for about two weeks and i had the greatest time with my family especially my cousin. We went out a lot and ate too much, spent way too much money and went on the craziest rollercoasters ever and enjoyed every minute of it. But its all over now and school has started again. I have been crazy busy because I have three upper division classes and I have track practice every morning. Track is going pretty well…i feel a lot stronger than i did at the beginning of the season and i feel as though it could only get better from here!!!! I was also really happy to come back because i got to see all of my wonderful friends again!!! I feel like every semester i double the people i know. Its pretty funny |
